Technical Liaison Services

Lab Connections is available to assist with technical questions from Laboratory staff on a best-effort basis. If requested by Laboratory Staff, we will provide Technical Liaison services to act as a mediator between laboratory staff and hardware/software vendors to assist in resolving complex or elusive systems issues.

This may include:

  • Keeping vendors actively engaged and accountable
  • Providing support for staff by acting on their behalf in vendor communications
  • Assist with opening technical support request tickets
  • Assist with generating detailed reports of service interruptions
  • Work on automation and innovation to relieve stress  due to reduced staff

Our team will work with your lab staff to learn from them what areas make their job difficult.

Addressing Testing System Malfunctions

Lab Connections understands the significance of resolving Testing System Malfunctions promptly and effectively. With instrument errors and personnel misapplications potentially impacting patient care, we can provide valuable assistance in investigating system nonperformance through the following strategies:

  • Providing a workflow to respond to QC ‘out of control’ events
  • Assisting with more advanced aspects, including systematic patient look-back worksheets

Remote Technical Assistance

Lab Connections team of MLS (ASCP) departmental specialists can assist labs with leadership requirements through remote technology. We provide the technical advancements to combat workforce demands.

Applications will be added to tablets that provide real time connection to specialist that can guide staff through:

All departmental competencies and training
  • Direct observations of testing performance, pre-analytical sample processing, reagent handling, testing procedure and result interpretation
  • Monitoring, recording, and reporting of test results, result documentation, turn-around-times, and critical value procedures
  • Direct observation of record keeping for quality control, proficiency testing and maintenance
  • Direct observation of instrument and equipment maintenance for each department and compliance to maintenance schedules
  • Direct observation of troubleshooting and corrective action procedures, and appropriate documentation of resolutions
  • Evaluation of proficiency testing (CAP Surveys) performed by staff. Provide direct observation of accuracy and corrective action for unsatisfactory or unsuccessful proficiency testing.
  • Coordinate with the staff schedule to ensure all members participate in survey events.
  • Evaluation of problem-solving skills and their application in the identification, resolution, and documentation of objectives
